I've looked at all of these.
Petit Palais is in a fantastic position and you're all inclusive or chalet board I believe. If its Crystal cook book, be careful. Their food was terrible last season.
Furggen is ski in out but 15 mins from town and you're normally B%B so lots of hiking possibly.
Des Guides is right in town and close to lifts but looks very dated.
The Breuil is quite old school but looks pretty good from what I remember.
Jumeaz looks more like a chalet, quite small. Nice.

Unfortunately i havent stayed in any of them, but I have looked at them all and TBH it depends what you want from your hotel. For me its a base, nothing more. If the catering is particularly good it makes a difference. For me location is a big factor. Ski in ski out will make your holiday so much more relaxing and enjoyable.

Re:Cervinia

I stayed in the Des Guides (but it was 1980!) so I suspect a lot may have changed. If I recall, it didn't have its own restaurant, the Cave des Guides alongside the cinema in the basement was under separate management. The rooms were small, with a sloping ceiling, although the lounge area was very comfortable and decorated with the owner's memorabilia from Everest expeditions etc.

Very, very, very convenient for the lifts and virtually ski to the door at the end of the day.

Re:Cervinia

Hi Chrissy.

Can't comment on the hotels you mentioned but we stayed at the Compagnoni last year and it was spot on. The guy on reception Marco was really welcoming and couldn't do enough for us all the time we were there. It's a 3-5 minute walk to the Cretaz lift and you can ski back to within 15 metres of the front door. If you look on trip advisor you'll see it has good reviews and they even proudly have a trip advisor type certificate on display in reception showing their scores.

Hope this helps.

Re:Cervinia

Can't say much about the ones you mentioned alothough I know where they are. Just returned from Cervinia last Saturday and we were out there this time last year as well. Stopped at the Hotel Dragon this year and it was great. Half board and they have the most amazing chef there at the minute, the food was tremendous. Nice place all round tbh. Last year stayed at the Serenella, again was very nice. Food not as good at the Dragon this year, a 2 min walk from the lift compared to virtually ski in at the Dragon, but would recommmend both. And the skiing out their is fantastic, particularly with the international pass.

I stayed at Petis Palais at Christmas, the location is the best in resort for getting up the mountain and the food was great, we had read some very mixed reviews about it but we had an amazing time, the staff were all really helpfull when my girlfriend got hurt on the slopes, I will be return here due to the great time we had and the amazing skiing across the whole mountain
