And the very best of luck to anyone going with them. Their planes are ancient. I also wonder how long they are likely to last as a business in the current climate?

Not when I flew with them it wasnt. It was 20kg of luggage and 1 ski bag which was never weighed, but that was the tour operators terms not the airlines.charlie 26 wrote:been with jet2 over 15 times in the last3 years never had a problem ,22kg hold allowance 20 kg ski allowance ,and as for the planes been old ,they are buying new all the time, there balnce sheets look very healthy i would doubt very much if they went out of buissness they are a sound well grounded company ,and no i do not work for them,i am jusy a frequent flyer that has never been let down by this company
And the plane I flew out on had a broken seatback which kept reclining into the poor bloke behind me, the toilet didnt work, and there was quite a draft coming in through the cargo door. It was an old 737 which really should be scrapped.
I believe Rose also had an interesting experience.
I dont work for a rival airline, but its just my experience of using them. And I would avoid them at all costs in future personally. I even changed summer holiday plans in order not to fly with them.

I have discovered that the Boeing 757's they operate have had nice refits with red leather seats and brand new interiors, so nice if you are lucky enough to get one of those. But chances are you will be on one of their old Boeing 737-300's (one of the oldest spec 737s still flying), many of which are able to convert into freighters.
I am led to believe that these older planes may be getting refits as and when they come in for maintenance over the coming months.
Looks like they are making improvements.
Good news if that is in fact their baggage allowances, but I think its normal for the tour op chartering the flight to decide on allowances. I think these higher allowances apply to individually booked flights or Jet2 packages, but I may be wrong.
