St Johann is quiet, however Kitzbühel is very close and Is a world famous resort so there should be plenty to do. Hitler's retreat the Eagle's Nest,is meant to be a good day,(however I have not been too busy skiing).

I suppose I asked for that, but I do not know the area hence my reason for seeking advice.
I have been looking at a property in the Nasserein area. I wont ask where this is, but would be interested in knowing if this is a descent area of the resort?

Many thanks Tony_H for your advice. What area of St Anton is the hotel St Christoph? I have looked at Zurs and Lech but unfortunately they are a little out of my price range.

Many thanks for the input. I must say Cervinia does appear to tick many boxes.

P.T. Many thanks for taking the time to reply. The information on Val Thorens is exactly what I was looking for, as it never mentions this in the brochures. I will have a look at Cervina. I have also been told that St Gervais may be a good option.

Once again thanks for your help and have a fantastic Christmas skiing.

I would like to book a ski holiday over the Christmas period and after reading several posts thought this was the best place for assistance. I will be travelling with my 21 year old son (boarder) and my 14 year old daughter (skier)all of intermediate ability. We normally ski Kirchdorf in Austria in January and stay in hotels. The villages are low and as a result do not have snow on the ground early season. We thought as St Anton was higher it could offer the Christmas post card snow covered streets etc.
We are looking for
. Catered chalet (hot tub etc)
. Ski in/out
. Night life closes by for my son, but also for the three of us to go out and enjoy a little family Après ski.
From a price point the budget is limited so if any deals on lifts/equipment etc would be useful.

I know it is Christmas so might be asking too much but any advice that could narrow my search for accommodation or what part of the town we should consider would be gladly received. Historically would the town have snow this early in the season?
