Easyjet check in at Geneva fleeced us on the way back this easter(£280 excess baggage), double wheeled ski bag with 2 pairs of skis and clothes to protect them, Easyjet policy is 12kg for ski carriage, my experience of Ryanair check in at Geneva was somewhat different. We were only flying easyjet as the oh did her acl and thats who the ins co put us with, needless to say the ins paid out but not the point
the OH flew with Virgin today and they weighed her hand luggage at check-in and advised her that it would be weighted again at boarding. Weight limit is 6kg (my understanding is that 6kg has always been the weight limit for hand luggage although never previoulsy checked)
When questioned it transpires that Virgin have now cottoned onto the fact that people were stocking up in duty free and consequently being overweight..... If Virgin are doing this i would bet on BA following suit soon after if they haven't already....
only the 1 thing on my shopping list for next season...a ski chalet, just starting to research the ins and outs of buying abroad etc etc, but initial thoughts would be the 3 valleys area
webcams, lots of webcams, although I do appreciate that this is limited by the number of webcams in resort. I also find looking at photos of people who have visited before quite useful as it shows you more than the typical TO shots.
