I'm using a pair of Salomon X free 8 Skis, that I've had for five years. I notice that the latest skis are fatter and shorter, and I wonder whether I'd get any real benefit from changing ? I ski mainly on piste.

Hello Peeps
I'm new to this forum, but I feel I can comment on the issue of Food and Beer prices. France is incredibly expensive, Italy or Austria is much much more reasonable. The best bet is to go Half board, that way you only have to fund the purchase of beer, and you can steal a few bread rolls and a bit of cheese from the breakfast table to keep you going during the day. Last year we skied in Passo Tonale, and later on at Belle Plagne. The difference in expense was scary. So much so that we only went out once or twice in France, we returned to the apartment for our lunch. In Passo Tonale we were in the pub for apres ski happy hour, 2 beers for 4 Euros - every evening. The food in the hotel was great, and the lift pass was 90 Euros instead of 230 ! If your keeping an eye on the costs, head to Italy. |
