Hi,
Can anyone suggest suitable replacements for a pair of 5 year old (2005) Salomon Scrambler 8 Pilots. The skis have been great but I feel they probably need replcement now.

Or do they? What will be the benefit of getting a new pair?

And if I do decide to replace them, what should I be looking for? Most of my skiing is on-piste (I have been nervous about off-piste since breaking my leg about 8 years ago and as a result am rubbish at it). More details, I am approx 5'10" tall and weigh just over 13 stone (say 84Kg). And I'm getting on a bit now (lets say close to 60) so obviously not as aggressive as I once was. Having said that I'm still fit and have been skiing every year for the past 40 years or so - although with no noticeable improvement over the past 20. I still ski the blacks, but am old and wise enough to decide that if a run looks precipitous, that I won't enjoy it. And that's what I'm there for.

So what advice can you give?

what you could do is look through this site-they have skis going quite far back and follow the model that was the scrambler (i think the morphed into the Xwing series?), find the newer model, demo it and see if its worth it? click on the ski model and then it gives you an option to track it back a few years to see the older versions
