 Is Soldeu worth a visit?

Soldeu has a really nice atmosphere with some great bars and restaurants. The skiing is very good too, being linked to all the six areas of Grandvalira.
It's been eleven years or so since we last visited Soldeu, stayed in the Sporthotel complex which we found to be excellent. Only negative was at the end of the holiday & the transfer to Toulouse from Soldeu as the Transfer bus we were travelling in had no windscreen. Brrrrrrrrrr!
Well worth a visit IMO.

Yeah but the wipers were OK.
The bus driver was wearing ski goggles.

Goggles are allowed, but don't trust the ones wearing skis its just not on.
Just booked to go w/c 16/01/2011. Too good a deal, IMO, to miss.

I went way back in 1995, can't wait to see how the place has changed. Back then, I was a young, carefree dude who loved beer and girls. This time, I'll be going with my 11 and 7 year old. I probably won't indulge in the beers as much this time, I think.
Soldeu is great, I love it there, give it a try.
Pas De La Casa (the other main section) of Grandvalira is a dump. Someone once described it to me as Blackpool on Ice - which, having been there, is really unfair on Blackpool. Avoid at all cost.

Those are very generous ratings, only a handful are genuine blacks. I'd thoroughly recommend it though, perfect for all but the powder hounds.
