Thanks all, still hoping to go even if I can't ride. Will be good R&R. It's a real dissapointment, but we will see. I am still staying in hospital, they are delaying a decision on operating on my shoulder until they know exactly what's going on in my head. CT showed more than just a fracture so had 2 MRI scans this evening and get all the news tomorrow morning. Bugger.

That's an utter bummer Tino. Stick to boarding in future, it must be marginally safer than cycling.
Out of interest were you wearing a cycling helmet? All my biking pals refuse to wear them. If you don't get to Chile, the Tignes suggestion looks promising!
