Hi Mike,
Have you looked at owners direct and other holiday rental web sites?
What do you call 'not funny' in terms of prices? As the dates you want are February half term you will be paying a lot anyway.
Some hotels, booked direct, are better value as we've found they don't charge more in half term than other high season weeks.

It's still cheaper, however, to avoid school holidays altogether. But I am guessing that's not an option. We're in same boat and that why we choose Easter.

Hello there Mike - on the off-chance you may be interested in Verbier, Switzerland, we do have space available on a catered basis. And our prices are the same as last season at the moment. Our chalet has a total of ten double ensuite bedrooms available, a ski-in ski-out situation, log fire-place, hot-tub, sauna and a resident cook to prepare wholesome dinners and breakfasts, and resident staff to clean.

A lot of half terms fall at once on that week next year, so it isn't going to be cheap. I'd look at Easter if possible, it's much cheaper and easier to book. But if your dates are set (or even if not!), try the forum at Chaletsdirect

We also have apartments available for half term 13/2 or Easter. Easter offers free ski passes for all kids, so is good value. Flights to salzburg . We can arrange transfer or car rentsl. have a look at www.austriaskiapartments.com
