2.) snowblades are meant for small maneuverable areas and half pipes, and it bugs me when i see a bunch of snowbladers on one big trail and they are shooting in and out of regular skiiers that are trying to go on their way, they think that somehow this is supposed to impress most regular skiers, but unfortunately it just pisses us off, ther just like snow boarders are usually unaware of their surroundings and dont have the common courtesy to move when you call out which side your approaching.

You mean, not for grown-ups ?

I have been told the blades can be a bit dangerous in that they can easily get away from you and your speed can quickly get out of control. Kind of sounds like fun!

I've never tried them but often wanted to.

Be careful out there!

I'd recommend 'blades' with caution, unfortunately there is no much choice in the rental market.

However, there is a big difference between 'blades' (generally foam core, stiff, skinny and with 8 hole plastic non-release bindings) and 'skiboards' (wood core, flex nicely, fatter to ride well in all conditions, and have interchangable 4 hole metal bindings and increasingly the option for releaseable ski bindings)

If you are finding blades fun and easy to turn, you will be amazed at just how good skiboards are - there is a whole new snow sport out there to be discovered.

Are these the same ones that they do the ski ballet thingy with ?
I have noticed that they`re getting popular lately with the kids and are the funny feet still doing the rounds its years since i`ve seen a pair.

Just my opinion like, but I think blades are stupid.

"Just my opinion like, but I think blades are stupid"

And you are welcome to your opinion Tony, but tell me..have you tried them? What did you not like? Or do you just not like the look of them. In particular, have you ever come across skiboards which are a whole different kettle of tuna..

i was just wondering, is this general dislike of snow blades by some caused by fear of change or are a lot of people just stuck in their ways (or is that the same thing)because i think the same thing happened when snow boarders started to change the look of the slopes ,i my self am now stuck on skis for ever tomski.
