Huts a bit expensive. Ischgl takes the busuit in hotel prices, though the hut prices were ok. Not sure about "not very challgening": look around at Hochgurgl and there are acres of inviting deep powder not far from the piste, more challenging than steep black runs for most of us.

Interesting that the US team elect to train in Hochgurgl. Perhaps the runs are not challenging enough for Bode????

Never paid more than 5 Euros for a large beer in Tignes (Val Claret) so the 5.50 for a small one is a bit of an overestimate for current Tignes prices. I'm sure there are some bars charging that but didn't frequent them. There again we got the impression that it was a place reeling from being shunned (presumably because of the prices) and the customers had gone elsewhere. Some bars and restaurants were clearly trying, but many had barely a handful of people at night (February before half term).

There were some days where we never shared a chair lift.

Andy, you need to switch to wearing Merino base gear, there won't be any problems thereafter......

I've been to Obergurgl twice, one week last year in March and one week this year in April. Snow was still great and there were no lift queues at all. Will go back next year again. Yes food and drinks are a little fit more expensive than other Austrian resorts but it's still not expensive. The night skiing was great, we skied almost alone :-)

This was during the most "busy" hours in the slopes

Two really enjoyable vids, Mackar. It felt close to how I ski, so I could strongly relate.
I have done the night run, (but it was in the dark!)
Really good videos!

Thanks. I just have to edit the rest of my Obergurgl videos and I'll post them here.

Whether 110km of piste is enough for a week depends on whether you like to clock up the miles or concentrate on how you are skiing. I've been quite happy in Zell Am See for a fortnight before, and much of that spent on 3 or 4 wide sunny reds on the Sonnkogel; personally if I like a run I will ski it many times, especially if it is quiet, trying to work on technique. It's preferences I guess; I feel no need to always be on new pistes.

I'm looking forward to Obergurgl in March after a rather horrid time in Kitzbuhel last year (fog at the top, slush at the bottom, 200m of enjoyable skiing in between). Slushy artificial snow moguls on the Streif at the end of the day - lovely.. 110km of piste in excellent condition will be more than enough for a week.
