This is the first year we have not considered taking our child out of school for skiing, we always go in January, the cost of return flights from Newcastle to Geneva are currently £1345 return for 2 adults and a child for the Feb half term and £226 the week after ! who would pay that. We then looked at Easter and Easyjet stop flying to Geneva at end of March, the kids dont break up till 3 April !. Ive now started looking at package holidays for Easter but find it takes away the flexibility and choice and the cost ridiculous.

One other thing, we are the only ones in our ski party with a child so all our group will haveto pay these ridiculous prices, or alternatively noone will come with us !

You need to book your flights the day they are released. We're flying with Easyjet to Geneva for the New Year week for £600 for a family of 4 incl luggage and seat allocations. The price has increased a lot since then. It's just capitalism at work - supply and demand and all that....
