Mmmmmm so what would be the remainder?
Skied: Arinsal, La Plagne, Alpe D'huez, Flaine, Les Arcs, Morzine, Les Gets
Er, maybe a connection with food/alchohol/calorie intake? (No offence, guv)
Strangley my intake is not excessive although I must admit I like wine and I do poorly at times.
My lack of exercise is my main issue I am sure.

I tend not to worry too much about it.
Just relieved to wake up in the morning.
Snow dance !!! my snow dance on youtube
Just relieved to wake up in the morning.
Buy a bike and do a couple of miles a few days a week.
Great for leg and core strength and far easier on the joints than running.
Downloading an app will not get you fit.

When in doubt?....Flat out.
Now ...
I do believe we have two conflicting ideas floating around in this thread.
Firstly there is "fitness".
This comes with bike rides, 1000's of various squats and other manoevres, obsessive (more than twice) use of a plethora of machinery (and wearing of licra etc) and other types of activity.
The there is the "idea" of fitness.
Which entails sequential activity of various types (only one repetition is the norm before doing something else), a continual research programme as to what is best and what others are doing (including those ever so helpful computer and phone based tools to aid in this programme) and a clear dieting strategy.
Dieting strategy is very different to dieting.
The strategy obviously involves a severe reduction in alcohol intake (except at weekends, when out with mates or when one deserves it - normally a result of deviating into "fitness" by mistake).
A substantial increase in purchase of fruit, nut bars, yoghurt, various "vegetables" and fitness drinks (consumption is not necessary - the purchase is sufficient).
As one can see from the above there can be confusion between these two activities of "fitness and it's "idea".
The serious skier must take the time to categorise themselves fairly and accurately - drifting, by mistake, into the incorrect category can have very serious consequences.
There are clear and obvious links between these two categories and the grading of skiing ability as discussed in a previous thread on skier types.

The "idea" of fitness is probably a seventh level prerequisite but, for some, could be level eight. Level eight could include those who fit both the idea and it's actuality.
