I prefer to keep my 'butt' off the snow, is that odd?

I would love to see the video as well! Amazing!
Tima, great that you have the carving bug. Would love to see some photos of you laying down some trenches. Hip on the snow is as low as you can go.
Like so many things, there are aesthetic choices to be made and it's hard to judge from two photos. For me, once the outside ski is no longer fully engaged, it's not skiing, just squatting on the inside ski. It's a fine line, but to each his own.
I don't speak the language, but this guy's static demonstration is nothing like his actual turns (which are just squatting on the inside ski thinking you look like an alpine snowboarder).

I agree. Not a fan of the body carving thing myself either but when you see the video. The way he skiis is not body carving just extremely laid out race carving. It is a true delight to watch. Video is on the way just trying to do the footage justice with the editing.
Hello men!!! I'm Eric the skiing instructor of Tim. We skied together during somedays in Superdevoluy. He was a very ggod skier, i enjoyed learn him carving ski.

Hello Eric, welcome to J2Ski, wonderful that you have popped along and posted a message.
Don't worry about your English, it is probably better than most English people who also use the forum

His English is a hundred times better than my French.
Definately going to ski together again.
If anyone wants carving lessons he is the man to PM if he is not fighting fires in Nice of course.
