There is a rail service from Chamonix to Martigny, where you can change lines for Martigny to Sierre.

, I know this site but didn't know about rail service.
The google maps can't show rail route for this area... just for a car.

Swiss prices generally may be a little more than France now, but the standard of hotel accommodation and customer care is, generally, infinitely superior in Switzerland when compared to French resorts.
I won a prize (apartment + skipasses, in Cran-Montana) but another days I want to spend in Chamonix. The planning is difficult for me because I've never been to The Alps. It will be amazing trip =)
