Oh no, another stalker.

You're right. I'm mentally deranged. Dangerous in fact. Posting from a sanitarium as you read this. In Bulgaria. I'm being treated by an Andorran Doctor who trained in Scotland, but I haven't been able to make the connection between that and my illness yet.

Just returned from Pamporovo after a great week with the best snow conditions for over 30 years. If I had listened to Tony H before I went I would have been pestered by prostitutes and beggers, used broken skis, had lifts not working, slopes not pisted and have a non existent infrastructure. Get a life mate I have travelled around the world and put up with alot of poor standards and can tell you matey, you havent got a clue. The hotels are clean the ski conditions better than some of the resorts in Austria. The Bulgarian people are respectful and couldnt go far enough to help. All 15 lifts in the resort were open and working and all runs clean and pisted.
For every bad report you here you wont here the 50 good ones so maybe you should take an overall view of other peoples accounts or visit a country and then make your opinion.

It is all about opinions and opinions are personal, what you want from a ski holiday is possibly not what I would enjoy, by all means take people's opinions on board but ultimately the decision is yours old friend, I glad you had a good holiday and enjoyed Bulgaria, it is not a place for me but that is my opinion.
And remember if you use forums for information you will always get differing reports it up to you
and ultimately it is what you want from a ski holiday.

Yes thats correct opinions are a personal account of how you viewed your holiday and experiences when you have been to a place. Dont make statments about things that you think go on in a resort from what you here from 1 or 2 pepole. If you dont want to visit a place no problem thats your choice but dont put off others because you dont want to go.

I can't really see how you are gonna put people off with an opinion, what I would do is not take just one persons but a number of opinions, but what I will say I have heard a lot of horror stories mainly about Borovets.

Glad you had a good time. You're probably right in that there is a balance to be obtained from peoples opinions and reports. Unfortunately what I had been informed was nothing but poor standards etc. It seems they have raised the bar somewhat according to your findings.

You can't gauge a ski resort on the conditions at the time you go, but Bulgaria generally does not get as good snowfall as, for example much of Austria. Thats another reason I'd choose not to go personally.

However, you make a point in that to offer a genuine opinion you should perhaps visit a resort yourself.

As for getting a life, matey, maybe you need to get things into perspective. I simply offered up a viewpoint based on a NUMBER of reports I had been given of negative experiences about Bulgaria for skiing, and other things people on here had posted in a similar vein. Luckily for you, you found them to be incorrect and enjoyed your visit, and for that I am pleased, but please.....don't get all aggressive about it, eh?

I think people should post their opinions based on facts not hear say. I ignore opinions made by people based on what they read / heard as they are not necessarily factual.

I skied Pamporovo years and years ago. Have to say, have no bad memories. Instructors were excellent, people were super friendly. Food in hotel was decent. As a family destination and place to launch your ski careers would say few better places. Reasonably priced, sufficient terrain for a week skiing, snow assurance is same as similar altitude resorts in Alps e.g. Megeve but temp will be less (continental affect). Having said that I spent a lot of time skiing in Norway with super wet snow on west coast and 3-400m vertical, so am not fussy. Best skiing in world is where you are that day, bit of bush whacking or grass cutting never hurt anyone.
