Yo Folks

Me the wife and a couple of friends are off to Pila on the 7th Feb. We are staying at the Pila 2000 and i was wandering what it is like as a resort. Our friends are right party animals and haven't skied before. From looking at the brochure it looks quite quiet and just wanted any tips on the best places to drink. I was also thinking if it worth going into Aosta and the best way of getting there.

Any advice greatly appreciated. 17 sleeps to go...... : :

Was wondering if someone could give info on this resort as I have a wife who cannot make up her mind. She has managed Passo Tonale & Sauze, is competant if not confidant.

Haven't been here for 10 years I'm afraid so things may have changed, but it certainly was more of a quiet family-friendly place rather than a hotspot for nightlife. The Pila 2000 is from memory a rather large sprawling complex but with a swimming pool etc I think. There is a gondola linking to the town of Aosta but it certainly didn't run in the evenings when we stayed there. Aosta is worth a visit though with Roman ruins, restaurants, shops, etc.
Pila has some nice blues and some very wide reds which are good for building confidence.

Stayed at the Pila 2000 and to be honest we ouldn't stay there again. the staff were pretty rude and if you wern't italian they wern't interested. The food as well was pretty awfull, As for the resort it is pretty small but had some nice runs. Not bad for beginners but got a bit repetative for us.
Unless you get a mega bargain I would try somewhere else......
