Its purely down to the time the appeals processes take.
I think i am right in saying that if a prisoner waives all his/her appeal rights the execution can be carried out quite swiftly.

But why are some on death row, the others made to suffer??

If suffer = being in a better place than real life where there are "3 meals a day, guaranteed shelter and nbot have to worry about losing a job"

Im not sure i understand your question. Do you mean 'why are some sentenced to death and others not for the same crime'?

Obviously some states in the US do not have the death penalty and for those that do i guess they look at mitigating circumstances.

Pretty much yeah. The guy with 521 years & 11 life sentences is not on death row, but that chap that went on a killing spree is on death row.

The chap with 521 years put his victims through horrendous torture techniques where he said, "I did not kill anyone, but they would have wished they were dead"

Not a very nice chap

Anyway, I went shopping in Chester on the weekend and bought a Marmot Jacket, Meindl Burma boots, walking pole and new socks. I have never seen £500 disappear so fast

Icy - I think talking about shopping etc. is a very good idea, if you see what I mean :D

Icy,
If this became a sort of amusing wibbly blog for J2Skiers then I would find it quite interesting, because I like reading about what people have been doing :D

So - you want us to keep this wibble thread alive because you're fond of it - have I got that right?

It reminds me of when my kids were young and they had those dreadful virtual pet things (whatever they were called I've forgotten now) and they insisted that I 'virtually' fed them etc. whilst they were at school so they wouldn't die

Edit
I've remembered what those awful things were called - tamagotchi's - digital pets. And I was in BIG trouble if one died when I was supposed to be looking after it
