New boots and footpads purchased. Off to try them in ridiculously cold L2A tomorrow. Hoping for a heli-trip over to Alpe d'Huez so will be taking Tony's review page and marking a skull & crossbones over the terrifying tunnel thingy on the piste map.
Any recommendations for L2A greatly appreciated.

The Vallee Blanche side is worth a visit, gets the sun first and some very pleasant skiing.
The Diable blacks back to the resort can be gorgeous but they do need a bit of sun to soften them often.
Avoid like the plague the Demoiselle green back to resort if it is at all icy or busy. The Valentin black down is a very well behaved black run.

I saw that thanks. You're review was forwarded to my group :-) The Valentin looks like it will be my first black.... I'm capable, just need to grab my confidence by the throat and take it with me
The cow shed has been mentioned as somewhere we need to look up. As well as the place you met your brown haired friend :-)

Take a deep breath and set off, the convex top looks much steeper than it is. When I was there the better snow was to the right (looking downhill) as the more timid skiers tended to stay on the left which gives the impression of being less steep.
Enjoy
