 Ski bag V ski tube

I need a new mode of transport for my skis next winter and am potentially looking at a ski tube - any good/bad experiences/opinions?
I used to own one, but my skis got too fat and I sold it on a well known auction site

They are quite heavy and substantial, that's good for skis, but bad if you are flying with a major Tour Op who puts a daft weight restriction on ski bags in the T&C's like quite a few last winter.

I tend to use the material ones, and if your worried about how they treat your skis at airports a touch of bubble wrapped around the bindings normally does the trick

yeah i agree with ian-or wrap your ski trousers and jacket around them-I have a single ski bag and managed last year to get 2 skis and trouser+jackets into it(just!)
Baggy pants, wide stance. Mad steeze, cork 3s
Tube every time...

And they have wheels on too!

If you value your jacket and pants do not wrap them around your skis, edges are sharp and clothes cost money.

Edit: Oh yeh, I have a double ski bag, takes 2 pairs of skis and a pair of boots or 3 pairs of skis pretty comfortably.

Agreed Wickers, though it won't stop a determined baggage handler on a wrecking mission
