Ade, no I don't know how much it would be, but MrEvs has expressed an interest in spending a day in one of the nearby resorts (Tony_H button it). I think there are several within a reasonable taxi distance. Maybe DaveMac could help us here when he comes back.

The facilities in the hotel are second to none for a 3 star. I've not managed to find anything comparable anyway.

P.S. yes it was the price, although I do realise that the guesthouses are a bit less. Plus MrEvs seems to seize every opportunity to spend more money with enthusiasm!
I wish I could meet the person who first decided to strap 2 planks to their feet and throw themselves down a mountain

I couldn't resist, sorry

You can hop on the skiwelt or over to Kitz itself. Better still, head up the Inn Valley a few miles, turn left and there you will find the glorious and large Zillertaller ski area. He might like it there )
EmmaEvs wrote:Smith_ade I wish I hadn't read your post We will be arriving on the same day. I was a little over enthusiastic with the Fake Bake last night so to recognise us just look for the person with the most unlikely winter tan

Emma, the future's orange!

Ade, you will finnd that the Reps are offering a combined mini-bus and lift pass, at least a couple of days a week.
If you decide to go yourself, you could phone Werner Rist, will pm you his phone no.
Mention my name, he will give you a price. If you google the skiWelt tourist office, you can then find out the price of day cards.

How did I manage to fail to pick up on that first time round?

You didn't really. Did you?

You've started on the tipples already haven't you?!

I had a feeling you wouldn't! Am impressed with your restraint though, it must be the festive spirit coming out Don't fancy going back to Kitz until I can ski better. How far (in time, I have no concept of distance) is Zillertal away from N then?

Emma, the future's orange!

... with a hint of cinammon mmm... orange and cinammon sounds like a nice festive combo

Do you reckon there'd be much price difference between rep booked and DIY Dave? Personally prefer the idea of DIY, I like to decide my own times etc.

Stupid? Vain? Embarrassing? Or did he do the decent thing and said you look a million dollars and that he loved you, as thats what Mrs H gets told....

Zillertal will take you about 45 minutes drive from leaving N, going down that silly little road through the trees, along the motorway and then up the Ziller Valley road. You don't have to go all the way up to Mayrhofen, theres ski resorts lower down the valley. If you don't want to go to Kitz until you're skiing's improved, I don't suggest you try Mayrhofen then, its not an easy place. You'd be better off taking the bus round to Auffach if you want a change of scene and some slopes to attack.
