Niederau - just for Caron-a

Tony_H posted Jan-2009

Caron, as discussed previously, these are the only pics I have of the red runs at the top of Niederau, which I feel would be the perfect place for you to spend most of your time, once you have found your feet on the bursery slopes down below in the shade of course!
These runs are blessed in that they are in the sun all day, assuming the sun is out, and are lovely smooth and gentle reds (IMO should be blues) and very wide.
You can ski down to the first T bar on the right in the first pic, or you down to the left of the cafe and link up with the second piste, which is a little more challenging, but nothing you wont be able to cope with after a day or 2, and come back on another T bar that brings you about 200m from the first T bar station.
I hope your 3 days enable you to find your feet, regain your confidence, and get ready for Tignes.

extremely good of you Tony.
they do look like lovely slopes, the kind I really enjoy.
if my knees are feeling good enough to give them a go after two days I'll be the happiest person on the planet!
if not, I won't beat myself up.
that's given me a lift, thank you

Thanks Tony that has really helped me too. AS you know we are going during the school hols and I am worried I wont be able to find my feet after so many years off skis. I notice at the bottom of that run it splits into 2. how do you know which way to go. Also can anyone use the nursery slopes or is it just for ski school? Because I think I should go on the nursery slopes first to make sure I can still ski! lol

Go left if you want to go another 1/2 mile or so to the 2nd T bar, go right and back up the first T, or straight down the middle to the cafe.
