just back from Les Arc, stayed in Arc 1950 and it was wonderful, if i would have to chose between Les Arc and La Plagne, having skied and stayed in both resorts, there is no question Les Arc is much much better, the pistes and the snow is much better than La Plagne
Yeah, thanks Broom!
Resorts i've been to: Arinsal, La Plagne, Alpe D'huez, Flaine
Planned trips :Austria, maybe Kitzbuhel (New Year 2013)
My weapon of choice : Atomic Blackeye TI's

Can you explain a bit more about why in both cases?

I thought about it several times, and changed my mind each time. Looks very pretty, but I just cant be arsed with going up a mountain on a chuggy old train and spending an hour getting to the slopes each morning. Not to mention the often common lack of snow.

If you get the full pass you can ski both so pick your accomodation to suite what you want from a hotel/chalet and apres. (We all have our preferences) but don't get too hung up about whether you'll be skiing Arc or Plagne - it's only a few minutes to work your way over to the Vanoise express that links the 2 resorts and you get the choice. I went just before Easter last year and both were slushy - even high on the glacier. That was the weather and I guess a couple of weeks earlier and both would have been fantastic.

Alas there weren't the late booking bargains this year so I've had to settle for one week in Courmayeur and the skis are back in the loft
