Ok. December is going to be my first time with BA, quite looking forward to free ski carraige, complimentary drinks, online check in, quick baggage drops, etc etc.
However, I am flying from Terminal 5, which was onviously well publicised for not getting off to a good start.
Anyone on here used T5, or BA recently, in particular the online check in and baggage drop?
I have this concern that my bags and skis are not going to end up at the right place for some reason!!!!!
Any useful tips and advice would be welcome. I will be stopping at the Sofitel which is part of T5 the night before to ensure I dont have too early a start!
Cheers in advance

MY OH uses T5 regularly, and says the problems that plagued the opening weeks are over. That's not to say they won't have others. He takes carry on. Online check in works fine, the fast bag drop is generally a case of joining the queue with B.A. (anywhere) , then taking your skis to a different drop area for outsize bags, so queue 2x IME. Wrap your skis well, label destination inside and out.
Food at T5 reported as rather good. Shopping is usual BAA daft stuff. Staying o/n it should be a breeze.

I've flown through terminal 5 and they lost both my bags (30kilo roller bag and 2 pairs of skis/boots) that was on the day they opened). Terminal 5 is great though, nice bar just as you go through security round to the right for a good glass of wine etc.
I like BA despite the bag problems probably one of the best airlines i've flown-fully flat beds in Business aswell!

Flying BA for first time, next January. Thinking that we must stay somewhere for the night. Flying from Gatwick. Have decided to drive up and use airport parking. Only prob for us is I am working until 6.00pm on the Saturday and our flight is 6.55am on the sunday morning. Allowing a 2 and half hour drive, plus two hours check in. Would have to leave about 3.00am sunday morning. Nightmare.

Worked well for me when I used it in July and earlier this month.
Certainly no problems regarding lost baggage any more like in its early days.

Used terminal 5 about 12 times this year and no problems, one of the best terminals I have come across in my travels. Sure they had a major **** up, but now it is fast, clean and efficient. The BA First lounge is quite nice too ;o)
