Just thought I'd start a thread to ask what ski instructors have said to people that you're not sure was meant as a good thing/bad!
I went skiing for the first time this year and had a great instructor, one of his favourite things to say to me however, was 'You have no fear', I thought that was a good thing, until he introduced me to another instructor and said 'This one is Kamikazee'.....Not sure him thinking I was on a suicide mission on the slopes was a particularly good thing!
Has anyone else been told something by ski instructors that reading between the lines probably isnt the compliment it sounds like??!!!!

On my first snowboard lesson the instructor said ' You have a natural talent'. I think he meant 'You have a natural talent???, cos its not snowboarding.

The only instructor I had said "you use a lot less energy if you can stay on your feet" about 8 times on my first ever time on a board. I replied "no shit sherlock" walked off and taught myself.

My son is an LTA tennis coach, he coaches a lot of kids, some with talent and some whose parents think they will be the next Wimbledon champ. They always ask for feedback on their progress. He always says ' They have reached their potential', parents think thats great, what it means is, 'Thats as far as they are going to go'
