Hey,
Me & My partner normally go Bansko for new year, but I want a change and want to take him to canada. He is a good skier and I don't ski at all.
I want to go somewhere that is closest to the ski lifts (no buses)and possibly near a spa. And also I think I want to go to Mount Tremblant as this is the shortest flight from the UK.
Any ideas and advice would be gratefully recieved.
Cx

Yeah Tremblant is like Disney on snow. Go there.
It gets very very cold however.

Tremblant would be best for a non skier. Never been there though so cant comment first hand.
Anywhere in Canada will get seriously cold

I went there a few years ago and know the perfect solution! However there are many!
The best ski in-out hotel is the Fairmont Tremblant which is literally on the slope!
However running through the centre of the town is a trail ( i say trail is more like a wide path covered with snow) This runs right the way down to a little lift that goes from the bottom of the town to the top. So thus passing many hotels on the way, such as the marriot, Le Lodge de la Montagne and the Hilton!
So as you can guess ski in-out hotels are in abundance in Tremblant! As has been mentioned it does get cold there but that just makes you work harder to get warm
I think tremblant would be a good choice! Go there!

Nothing to do with Mickey, Donald or Pluto running around the place then? I had visions of massive cartoon characters on skis.....

Just from what i've read. Wouldn't go as a skier its more like a winter wonderland type place.
Google it and take a look for yourself.

My family and I are going to Whistler / Blackcomb for ten days in 09 as part of a visit to family living in Vancouver. I have considered staying at the Fairmont Chateau and would appreciate any views, especially on convenience.
The biggest problem I can envisage is making sure that the kids have had some breakfast before an 0845 start in ski school.
Is this hotel close to cafes etc for breakfast? Are the restaurants particularly expensive for breakfast in the hotel?
I understand that the hotel is close to Blackcomb base lodge, where the ski school would meet, is this correct?
Thanks, this newbie would appreciate any info.
Ronners.

The Chateau Whistler or the Four Seasons Hotel are located at the base of Blackcomb Mountain. It is also the location of both the ski & snowboard school.
