Not the sort of post we want to make but we've been left with little choice.

This past season we've run a lot of advertising for Savoie Holidays, a trading name of Chalet Developments Ltd (a UK company) and allowed them to promote their chalets in the forum (through the user account "snowgirl"). In the first half of the season we ran a custom, targeted campaign for them - for which they agreed a fixed price.

In light of their treatment of us since then, and other facts that have come to light, we are obliged to issue this warning. Fundamentally :-

  • They owe us money, and have done since October. Despite numerous polite reminders from us (that have often been ignored) and occasional promises of immediate payment (the latest made this last Tuesday), no payment has been forthcoming.

  • According to Companies House, their Annual Return and Statutory Accounts have not been filed and are now three months overdue - failures to file these documents are criminal offences.

Although failing to file accounts can indicate that a business is in trouble, Savoie Holidays are still answering the phone.

Acccording to their website they are still operating the following chalets in the Tignes and Paradiski areas :- Chalet Arabette, Chalet les Sapins, Freeride Lodge, Chalet Iris and Chalet Richermoz.

If anyone knows the above information to be incorrect (it's possible these chalets may be operated by someone else in the future), please contact us immediately and we will amend this post.

So, if you like to give your money to a company that doesn't pay their bills, doesn't communicate and whose accounts are overdue... go right ahead. But we wouldn't recommend it.

Anyone with experience of dealing with Savoie Holidays, or who can shed light on their situation, is welcome to reply to this post.

In the event of Savoie Holidays resolving the situation and providing a constructive response, we will happily append to this post accordingly.

The snowgirl account is now locked and we will be removing the remaining advertising for Savoie Holidays today.
