Hi while we are all pining for the slopes and getting severe withdrawal symptoms, just wondering what other sporting or non sporting activities do we all get up to in the summer months?....Discuss

My 18-month-old ensures I get plenty of practice at the 3 metre sprint at the moment. The "Stop-the-toddler Triathlon" also includes the Stair-gate Hurdle and Catch-the-crockery... does that count?

Otherwise, a skier's edge for the legs, tennis and Karting when I can (anyone here visit Buckmore Park?).

Only five months until the snows come again!

Oh I remember the "stop the toddler triathlon" although many years ago. We generally surf, In fact we were surfing before we were ski-ing. Living by the sea its quite convenient, although we do head to Cornwall in the summer. Still have a love of tennis although I dont play so much, having a son who is a professional tennis coach, Wimbledon tickets seem never to be a problem.

I used to play a lot of tennis, so will probably manage a bit of that. A bit of walking to and from the pub, and sitting in the beer garden might be a popular one, and then sitting by the pool for 2 weeks for sure. Other than that, roll on winter.

Ice skating is my once a week (at least) all year round "exercise". Not a hockey game, but just going around in circles with the lucky retired people for a couple of hours.
Roller blading is supposed to be a good cross training exercise for skiing (or so I've read) but the areas suited to this are usually too hilly or the ground is too rough. Must give it a more dedicated try this summer. I really don't want to break anything in order to get in better shape for the winter.

Last summer I skied once or twice a week, every week at the local dry slope.

This year I've not been any where near the place - except for the odd chat.

This summer on the other hand shall be mostly spent on our new sailing boat. I'm expecting a great tan this year - from the neck up.

Blimey, that is keen

My liver needs training for the cold winter season-naturally! Also golf goes down well! Hopefully another round at Loch Lomond will come my way

Biking, walking, camping, boating, climbing, sitting, staring, sleeping....

It doesn't matter in the summer.... it's warm...

Hey I run a mountain chalet in the undiscovered Tatra mountains of Slovakia. It's beautiful and it's budget.
