Hi, we are hoping to spend new year in France for 1 week from 27th dec, maybe flexible, 4 adults and 5 children, open to any area as long as it has stuff for the kids, will consider a chalet (catered if can afford) or a couple of apartments.

Cheers guys.

If your pocket is deep enough you can't go wrong with esprit chalets when it comes to the kids. not cheap though!

From my limited knowledge I can tell you that tignes val claret is good for apartments as is les arcs (we got a fantastic deal last new year). Skiworld have lots of chalets and chalet hotels in tignes le lac. alpe d'huez would be good if the kids are going to learn (be careful of location though).

I haven't been there yet but val thorens would be good that time of year because of it's altitude (as would tignes). there seems to be quite a few apartments there but, from what I can see, the chalets all look to be in the same area which, although close to the village, are up a steep slope so not great with the kids in tow.

Good luck

Hi,

I have an apartment- see www.ownersdirect.co.uk/france/fr1457.htm
which will house half of your party. I have a colleague who has an apartment in the block next to mine who can house the other half.

Bon ski!

Hi Paul

Was just looking at your chalet as a few of us are looking at going in april 09.

It says it sleeps 4/6. Where do the two extras sleep outside of the beds???

Hi Chris,

2 more can sleep on the sofa bed in the living room. We're off to the apartment in August and plan to buy another sofa bed, for the main bedroom, to give more flexibility-people could sleep there instead if they prefer.

Bon ski!
