Trencher is soon becoming famous! Read Ski Mag March issue since there is a great article about Trencher's technique! Seems Ski mag has been "monitoring" this chat site and offers great article!
Now I suggest we set up collection for Trencher so that next year he can go the the next "carving" competition!

Now to really make this post controversial ,,,what does SKI mag do? On page 84 of same issue they give tips on using poles and I quote, " don't forget your poles are there for a reason"!

So you see this pole discussion is all about what you want to do while skiing! It is personal choice!

Still want to ski with you Trencher!!!

Exactly. I've never said people should not ski with poles, but I have questioned the reasons given for using them.

Even I would use them in powder and difficult terrain.

If Ski Magazine have been monitoring this site and are using material from it, then at least, they should be giving credit, and more appropriately paying J2ski admin for the use of the material posted here, and Trencher for his ideas.

Well, I did say "ideas", which is of course, different from "good ideas"
I'm sure ise will be along soon
I have not seen the magazine, and not found an online link for it yet.

The two major magazines in North America are;
Skiing and SKI!

It is the March issue of SKI!

What is amazing is the content reflects all that Trencher has been saying! I actually phoned Ski magazine editor to see if indeed it was Trencher who wrote article!
On my way to Utah Trencher,,I will stop by to ski with you!

I am working on a plan to chage that. Watch this space.

There are some ski magazines in the UK, but many of them I find are aimed at professionals or people who are only into freeride and freestyle skiing, or those for whom money is clearly no object.

There is a gap in the market place, which I hope to exploit sometime soon. I cant say any more than that right now.

Mags you might be able to get hold of, which I have to say dont seem to say a great deal:

Snow Magazine
Skier & Snowboarder

Apart from that, there isnt a lot.
Yet.

Tony,
You will find a 'hungry" set of skiers since few ski mags and truly aimed at skiers.
Rather they are marketing media for skis, resorts and retail products.
Wish you luck and much "interest" in your project!
