In order to get fit, it has been recommended that I get a swiss exercise ball. Has anybody used the ball to get fit for skiing? Had a go on one and just staying on it was a bit of a challenge! And the various sizes confuses me even more! Any advice greatfully received along with suitable exercises! Thanks Sue

I use one regularly to strengthen my core muscles. When you say "staying on one" what were you doing with the ball?
Here are a range of exercises for all standards, including how to choose a ball, which is based on your height.
I was just trying to sit on it! Any movements at all resulted in unsteadiness in the extreme. I hope there were no hidden cameras! But practice makes perfect and it is a good start to get the right sized ball for my height (5ft 3in). I never knew it would be so complicated!

Sued, once you have your ball, inflate it in the room where you will be using it. Some of them won't fit through doorways once inflated )
Let the forum know how you are getting along with the exercises
