Thanks Johntin, for keeping us updated. Best of luck with it,

Ally
I'm sorry if I have touched a nerve but I have cleaned many Chalets over the years without problem,
and I for one if i'm not happy with the service I will name and shame and also boycott.
The TO and the apartment owner have taken your hard earned money and in return have given a shoddy
service.
I for one pay a lot of money for my ski hols and I demand a high service for that money I do not see that you have recieved that, good luck and I hope that you get your money back.
I await the out come.

Ian,
Thanks, probably a bit touchy because Im back to the old grind, and next ski hol is in the future
will let everyone know the out come, even if we have cocked up somewhere!
Just catching up with last weeks action on here and stumbled across this thread. I am struggling to work this one out - here is a new poster who wants to publicly complain about being ripped off, yet as I understand it did not discuss this issue when he left the apartments in question, which he currently refuses for some reason to name.

To me its a simple case of the apartment owners abusing the cleaning deposit. Either that or the poster actually didn't leave the apartment in the condition which was expected?

A simple phone call to the tour operator to put in a complaint or to find out why the 60 euros was taken might be a good idea?

Perhaps the original poster would be so kind as to keep us updated on this, as I am not really itching to know whether he is a just a messy person or if the French are in fact thieving gits.....

Hi Johntin,
Did you get your 60 euros back? Or a detailed explanation? They've had plenty of time to sort it out now.

Ally
Hi Ally
Nothing sorted yet, friends being told, "will be looked into within twenty eight days of original complaint" this quote was from tour operator, problem is they dont deal directly with the apartments, another party is involved in that part !! must admit friends are being very patient
Johntin,
Thanks for the update. I hope it gets sorted soon. Making you and your friends wait this long is totally disgraceful

Ally
After this message was posted I emailed the owner of the apartment I am renting (privately) asking him how he expected the apartment left.
I got this reply :

If you leave it presentable, that fine. ie. Make sure dishes are clean and put away and it's not such a mess that it would take the cleaners hours to handle. They will vacuum, mop the floors, clean the bathroom, kitchen etc as you would expect and take away the laundry. If anything gets broken it's usually best to let the cleaners or me know straight away so that there's no arguments later.

I thought that was great as some places expect a real going over, which is hard when you have a days travelling ahead and need to get off.
...of course, I've paid for the cleaning in the price. We were inspected in Puy St Vincent and were not allowed to leave til it was checked. We had to leave it vacuumed and mopped....

Holiday?
