Thanks

Stop hijacking my thread the rest of you! I looked for a Glasgow board but couldn't find one

I don't think I have Hijacked your'e thread I have just asked a question so you can add your'e thoughts about the bad press that Borovets has gotten over the years, as of yet I don't think you
have taken up the opportunity.
MyBorovets wrote:Well the site in my sig contains an article where I point out the vast differences between the Alps & Bulgaria. Many people seem to come expecting the Alps level of skiing & piste lengths.

There are of course, thefts & problems that some people experience but in my experience it is no worse than anywhere else I've been.

In short, I'm not too sure.

It's a ski resort, it's god a reasonably variety of pistes. The nightlife is good should you choose to go out.

It doesn't have the piste lengths of the Alps but it is much cheaper (certainly to eat).

There are erotic bars therefore you'd have to make your own mind up about taking your family there.

I think many people come expecting too much. It's a ski resort, you're there to ski - so do that.

As previously mentioned, I don't really know why the reviews are SO bad. However tourism has apparently increased by 5-10% year on year since 2005.

ps. I wasn't trying to start an argument in my previous post ... it was meant as a joke.

Thanks for the response, I appreciate that there is more milage in other areas of Europe and I have said in previous threads that milage I can live without, quality skiing is a different kettle of fish,
I have read a lot of reports of skiers having nightmare holidays due to hookers in hotel bars and poor ski school and piste preparation and theft, negatives reports seem to out weigh the positives.

I won't bore you with the nasty tales from my trip to Borovets, but I too am with them above, and I definitely won't be going back.

Start of the third week in March, and the pisteurs had already packed up for the season

The bar owners/managers were livid as nobody wanted to wade through crud to have an apres beer or lunch.
