Glad you got sorted. I liked the look of those too. Have fun road-testing them next week. :-)

Whatever gloves I buy (have to admit always tend to go for a lower to mid price range), my biggest issue is not keeping warm (as the others have said, you can always wear the inner gloves/liners) but that the gloves tend to wear out where the thumbs are - because of carrying the skis in my hands. What are your experiences? Which mid-priced brand would last longer?

Edgeoftheworld (and the others): Sorry, only just saw your comment - will try out White Rock Air gloves myself. Thanks!

Yup, that palm grip also covers the thumb area ;)

To Edgeoftheworld: Many thanks! Will have a look at the net tomorrow... only got back from skiing today (3rd time this season) but already thinking of sneaking away in March. Terrible thing this love of skiing, all money goes into that...maybe should try to move somewhere in the Europe, closer to the mountains...

MMMMMmmm Never worn out gloves carrying skis
I would suggest that you carry your skis with care :D

Would only ever buy Millet or Hestra gloves and must have wrist straps so no need to worry about dropping off lift. Always carry 2 x pairs. If touring carry 3rd light pair for uphill part (also good for running in), sweat too much in your gloves and hands will be cold later. Follow those rules and you will never have cold or wet hands regardless of weather. Good gloves last forever, I have a pair of Millet mitts and some Hestra leather gloves >10 yrs old, so 8 Euro a year and pretty heavy use throughout whole year, bargain.

Look at mitts rather than gloves as much warmer and you can't do anything with the fingers of gloves anyway. Also I recommend big gauntlets which help prevent snow going inside or up your sleeve when you fall. I sew a cheap electronic watch on the strap so I can tell the time without taking my mitt off. Best and cheapest I have found are available by post from USA but not in Europe so look at Gordini web site
