Tony_H wrote:Icy, back to the cars: I've had A3's and they're decent, but you get more car for the money with a VW golf or better still a Seat Leon. I had an FR which is the sporty one which was fab to drive. However, for someone doing a 90 mile trip to work wtf do you want a petrol engine for?

Also do look at an insignia, massive inside, and the 160bhp diesel is lively and superb on fuel.

Personally I like the Leon, it's got more attitude than the others in its class and driver really well.

Petrol v Diesel

- The difference in price of fuel at approx 8p per litre takes a long long time to make up for the increased mpg with a petrol (about 110 mpg in my experience)
- I am fed up of sluggish diesels, those that are not sluggish are not in my price range

Cars

- Seat leon, had one of those (old shape) a few years back and was a good (but slluggish diesel car)
- Insignia is a bit big, 90% of the time there is just little old me driving (sitting in traffic)
- Golf. Have to get a brand new as chance it has been thrashed.

Curvy - I dont want to drive a box like a scooby ;)

C30 is looking attractive price.

Just back from a great weekend on the (un)official J2 camping trip, we spent a night or 3 drinking beer and sipping some Chateau Snapzzz in the sunshine/cold.
A splendid few days whiled away eulogising the 2014 ski season and looking ahead to 2015's offerings.
I tested out the new Weber gas BBQ and i think Iceman will confirm that jacket spuds on the grill were just devine!

Oh...and we kept an eye on the cows whilst learning that in the woods you can often find woodland......who'd have thought it?

Must add it was a great weekend, hopefully be another J2Ski camping trip this summer. Looking over the fields to the cows seemed to increase with the amount of alcohol consumed ;-)

Yes, the Chateau Snapzzz was very nice, and despite my preconceptions the jacket spuds were very good!

BUt why is it after 20 (ish) years of life - we still take too much meat for a BBQ. It was a meat fest- I think we all went to bed with the meat sweats. Or was that caused by my head sweating due to sitting outside a pub for 4 hours with no suncream on my balding forehead?

ADMIN! Following on from the winter olympics,I couldn't stand the suspense. Unless, of course, great emphasis was placed on the not word.....

Definitely echo Iceman's comments about bbqs: if you were to put the amount of food consumed by one person at a bbq onto a plate, well, it probably wouldn't fit.
