Apologies for moving away from the car topic but I think I've just witnessed a 'top 3 ever' sunset. No photoshopping required! Photo taken in our back garden about 20 minutes ago.

Lovely photo BB - doesn't look natural though does it? It does look as though you've added purple to it ...

scooby is a bit dull looking car. Not very curvy

Icy?
You like curvy cars?
Do you wear lipstick as well?
Or is that only when you are skiing? 8)

Icy, back to the cars: I've had A3's and they're decent, but you get more car for the money with a VW golf or better still a Seat Leon. I had an FR which is the sporty one which was fab to drive. However, for someone doing a 90 mile trip to work wtf do you want a petrol engine for?

Also do look at an insignia, massive inside, and the 160bhp diesel is lively and superb on fuel.

Personally I like the Leon, it's got more attitude than the others in its class and driver really well.

I've got asn Insignia Elite Sport Tourer. Get about 35mpg, which I am not overly impressed with, compared to my previous Passat. The engine is lively though, but I am also disappointed by the number of times I have had to take it back for various things that have gone wrong. It's got all the gizmos you can think of, but what for I don't know - it only needs to get me from A to B at the end of the day.

We've got an Audi A3 2.0 tdi as a business contract hire car. Decent enough but very pricey with a list price of £25,000 if a non business purchase or lease. It;s absolutely impossible to get anywhere near the official fuel economy figures. We are achieving 53mpg combined against official figures of something like 66mpg and that's with easy A road driving. I really don't like the gearing on the car. It's set up with economy in mind and I'm constantly changing up and down gear unless cruising on a motorway. Wouldn't have another one for this reason alone - back to a 3 litre auto diesel for the next lease car!
