No it wasnt. But it was an opportunity to get away or not, so I was thankful for the trip. At least it made my mind up about the place. Anyway, this is the French list so back on topic.....

Yes Mr H, You should defo go to Les Arc and stay in the Arc En Ciel which is a new Chalet at 2000. You cant go anywhere without your skis.
As for Mileage, the Guy in our Chalet was an expert skier and he said that the whole Paradiski area is a big ask over the week to complete.
Also as someone mentioned the Aguille Rouge from top to bottom is a run that is just amazing (not that I would know before you say it).
It has such a varied amount of skiing for all levels and many off piste runs which in JANUARY 2010 would be excellent for powder.

Alright Stewart. Calm down. I thought you wanted to go to Lech?

Right, so everything has gone full circle, and we are now looking at booking to go to Alpe d'Huez. We were struggling to get the discount with one operator we needed to make it worthwhile going back to St Anton, but a couple in the group are total beginners and therefore we felt St Anton might not be suitable for them.
And I have come across a very nice 4 star chalet in Alpe d'Huez which is being sold for next season at this seasons prices AND £10 for a lift pass. That means a fully catered week with flights, transfers, accommodation, food and drink and a lift pass for under £520. I think thats whats called a no brainer.
Its up in the Altiport area where theres a lot of new builds, ski in/ski out so its perfect for the whole group, who arent fussed about going into town every night.

Right, whos done Alpe D'Huez recently and wants to give me a review of pistes to ski etc?

I have sent a couple of PMs out to those I know have been recently, and got a stack of useful info. Thanks to everyone for their contribution. I am booking today.
That will be 2 trips to France inside 9 months, having not been for 7 years!
