Tinted safety glasses work well, are cheap, 100% UV, and won't damage you face if you fall. I've seen some nasty damage caused by wearing the wrong kind of sun glasses during a fall.

great link, thanks Trencher, just what I've been looking for, although not for skiing, think I'll stick to the Oakleys after paying all that dosh for them, but will certainly be of use for the workshop. My current safety glasses must have come out of the ark

Blimey they're cheap! Just shows how much we're being ripped of by Oakley and the likes. I expect Oakleys are a bit better quality but probably not much.
Having said all that, I am on about my 6th pair of Oakley sunnies

Well, thanks to TK Maxx, I will be sporting new goggles and glasses this season, both North Face, and both ridiculous bargains, as per usual.
I used to always stick to glasses, but got fed up with them steaming up when I adjusted my boots, and also had a couple of really cold days in Sauze when goggles were required, and I used goggles much more since. You do feel a lot warmer in goggles, but I agree with matey - take both out with you, because you can always find a need for one or the other during the day.

I definitely agree with the "both goggles AND glasses" advice.
A few weeks ago I was in the Tchibo franchise of a local Savacentre (Leeds White Rose) and they were selling wraparound sports glasses with interchangeable lenses for half price - less than a fiver! If I remember rightly they were grey, mirrored and yellow. I wish I'd got a couple of pairs. There's no sign of them on Tchibo's website. Anyone know if they've got any left?
Cheers,
Stubbsy

Well I have Spy Zed Goggles Pop3 design.
But I'm looking for a new pair of sunglasses for skiing.
Any ideas?

I've just done a week in Andorra and tested Trencher's (see Posting 314 dated 05 01 0 Bolle pink (yes pink!) tinted safety glasses recommendation.
Incredible performance in any light conditions.
Well up to my Ray Ban 'Glacier' costing £squillions.
Don't worry that the tint is faint..it's fully UV rated. At a tenner incl postage, for Bolle it's a steal.
Well done that man!
