Apparently you need decent snowfall to make the Sache run reasonably ok. Have a look on youtube...

Well done Ally it looks like a goer, is this a desperate attempt for the Nobel peace prize )

Two things that would tempt me to join this trip are watching you on the Black run down & the other would be as I would have to share a room, Snapz Cackle ( Ice ) & Pop ( Ian )would not in the offing  But will consider it anyway.

I'll join the others saying: Hats off to Ally for tackling a difficult task!!!!

And I am very glad this trip got off the ground!

I am really looking forward to go, even if it would end up remaining just a mini-j2ski-group! ... and in the spirit of another ongoing J2Ski thread ("Sleeps to Ski"), I am starting my sleeps countdown: 286 till Jan 13th!!!

Cheers,
Cat

I do believe that apart from me and Mr F all the others are going solo at the moment.

Mr F and I are quite happy skiing on our own but thought it might be fun to meet up with others of like mind and similar age. If it doesn't work out we will just ski on our own again but I have no reason to think it will be anything other than fun.

The good thing about this chalet is that it is big enough for small groups to come as well as solos.

And Icy, I know that March was the most popular month by one vote in the preliminary survey BUT when it came to committing to go, the most popular month was January. For the record I would have done either. Also this village isn't the highest, we are more likely to get better snow in January. If we had gone in March we probably would have had to go to a higher and therefore more expensive place.

I just hope some others will sign up now that Ally has gone to all this trouble. If not, the few of us that are committed will go and report back. The beauty of the package Ally has organised means the numbers are completely flexible.
I can see my house from here...

Hi Snapzzz,
I will explain (again) to you and Icy, and anyone else interested, why I picked January instead of March. But I'm going to do it on the original 'Anyone organising a group?' thread, because I'm trying to keep this one clear for information and queries about the holiday I HAVE booked for J2Skiers.

BUT I have been busy all day today, and as seems usual for me at the moment, I am totally exhausted, so would you all please wait a minute whilst I have my supper

I am really sorry that you are missing out on this holiday, Snapzzz and Icy, but I did everything I could to make this as fair as possible.

And, I'm sure you will both have great holidays with your own families and friends :D

well ,as one of the souls that has decided to go i thing that the resort looks ok ,,the company looks good ..at least some like minded people .and it falls in with my plan to drive out and go one somewhere else after (or before or both)..and if I cant get my son to come with me maybe someone will share a room to allay the costs..
I always go in January and have had good conditions most years and after two holidays in aprtments it will be nice to meet new people and maybe have someone to ski with..it all makes a change

I think Ally is doing a great job and deserves all the praise for the bravery in sticking her neck out and organizing this

Thanks very much Daved :D

My mother always used to use a very curious expression for this sort of thing - which went something like this:

'So who is the one who is going to be stuck up the chimney?'

And, in this case, it is clearly me
