SKI ADVICE
I dont have pink skis FFSIceman wrote:Tony, It is at this point I have to be honest with you.
Yes I am old fashioned and you would not find me on a pair of pink skis! Looking forward to you showing wickers your pink skis
However the bases of my wifes K2's are the most ridiculous bright pink you have ever seen. They come in useful though, like a pair of headlights so you can see her coming from miles away. They actually also light up the snow when you lift them up.
Anyway, you've got to say these look really smart:

Okay, I hate to admit it, but it appears I am totally wrong!
I have never seen such awful pink skis in all my life - but here they are:

Mind you, I don't think I could stand ski-ing on these myself, and I AM female

One of my ski Bases is Pink, the other black with the mfrs name. Plenty of blokes have expressed interest in the skis, and said that they liked it, what were they etc. Didn't buy them because they would be a bloke magnet, but hey
Having Pink ski bases is pretty irrelevant, the rider doesn't actually see them. The Missbehaved is a really great ski, with a 102 waist and I'd love to ski/own some.
I choose my ski kit on the basis of what it can do for me, not the paint job, and I am also female

Awful...really? Its the bases that are pink, the top sheet actually look fantastic IMO.
Mrs H skis on these:

but hers are a couple of years old and different graphics.
You stick to your Dynastar's, Ally.
I'm very relieved to know that it's only the bases that are pink - thanks Bandit and Tony
But I'd still feel very uncomfortable ski-ing on them in case anyone got a glimpse of the pink underneath
We have hired K2's twice, both of them from the T-9 range. One of them was True Luv and I've forgotten what the other one was. They were both okay skis, but nothing special in my opinion, and they were really slow so that we, and the other girl in our group who had the same skis, were left behind on the flat and schussing unless we poled or 'skated' etc.
I liked the Dynastar Contact 4X4's because they were exciting skis and when I got it right they went like rockets. It was just like stamping on the accelerator or like when the turbo kicks in, when I got it right - it was simply amazing! Of course, most of the time I didn't have it 'right' and they were like 'normal' skis but I reckon the skis taught me a lot and I'm sure they were the most 'advanced' skis I've been on.
It will be interesting to see which skis they dish out to me next time I'm in the hire shop. If they've got pink bases I might just hand them back

s'now joke, but I clicked your link and got the following error on teh Scott website >>>> An error occurred
The Northern Monkey. 2014....loads of sleeps!
The men's version of Scott Maya is Scott Aztec, Scott Neo is women's Scott Realm I think. Not sure about men's counterpart to Rosa. Mission, probably?
TBH I don't care how the ski look like, colour etc., as long as it skis well. I just bought Armada TST and graphics look odd to say the least. But it skis really well. Pink bases are good if you lose your skis in powder. But whatever their names or graphics are I generally don't like K2 skis. I tried Lotta Luv's and just couldn't get why so many people rave about them, Heavy and damp. I tried my friend's Obseth's and didn't like them either. Weird skis - heavy and soft at the same time.
