Sorry Nell but I think you have that wrong .... I have skied France, Italy, Switzerland and have never found one, the only place I have not skied is Austria the home of the T Bar

Don't mind them at all. I remember going on some in champoussin Switzerland and there pretty steep in parts... But there all over and a way to still enjoy skiing where they maybe can't put a chair for whatever reason....

Having read your post though, myself and a few mates (2 boarders) went to 3 valleys last yr for a cheap week and 1 of the boarders hated the drags. Same situation as yourself. The button drag up the side of the park in VT was simply a way of getting up high to enable us to get where we needed quicker.... It became embarrassing after the lad could not get on the lift at all. Each time he some how managed to fall.... He finally managed it but it was a long wait.....

They are the pure evil of lifts (For boarders). Nothing worse then boarding down a run legs burning to get to the bottom and have to stand in an awkward position with excess pressure on your front foot for the next 5-10 mins. Don't get me wrong I will use them but try to avoid if I can.

Worst part is when your park lapping 9 times out of 10 it's a drag to get you back to the top of the park ?
Wishes Essex had a mountain range Im all about the CamRock

Pay attention to the title of the thread please!!

I was talking about for skiers, not boarders.

Now that we have that evil removed, back on track....

.....oh yes. T Bars.

I have to say the only place I have found them has been Austria. There used to be a one on the Ahorn in Mayrhofen but its been replaced with a lovely automatic 8 man chair.

There was also a very nasty one in Niederau which sent Mrs H flying. Very aggressive thing it was. Threw her a good 20 feet. I think thats maybe what could have contributed to my view of the place

At Plagne 1800, there's a button lift that has the most ferocious lift off. Awful when you're unwary, but actually quite a laugh when you know it's coming as you can have some fun doing a Harrier take-off impression!

Lots of T-bars still in Austria and Swisserland (glacier at Engelberg, Arosa and in the Jungfrau also).
