Hi Dave,
This is what Bonjour say on their website:

The coach will collect guests on change-over days from flights arriving at Geneva airport up to 13.30 pm and return them the following Sunday for flights leaving after 11.00 am

The transfer takes about 3 hours (rather than 2 and a half hours) because the coach also goes to their chalets in Val d'Isere.

I've already enquired about their transfer times on the return journey. I understand that the bus leaves Val d'Isere at either 5.30am or 6.00am with the aim of arriving at Geneva by around 9.00am. This allows a couple of hours for delays/checking in time etc. When we with Ski Bonjour a couple of weeks before you, we'll be skiing the whole of the last day and are getting a late evening flight from Geneva. I haven't sorted out the transfer yet.

Thanks Bedrock Barney :D

Did you see what I posted on the other thread about airports and transfers?

Bonjour told me it might also work out quite well if we had 8 people in our group who wanted a transfer at a different time to their coach (but at a similar time to each other), because thecoolbus.co.uk charge a reasonable fee for transfers from Geneva. I had a look at their website and it says 280 euros for an 8 seater mini-bus, which would work out at 35 euros per person, each way, if we could fill it. And we would save the 20 minutes that the Bonjour coach takes to go to Val d'Isere first.

The only problem with this idea is trying to find the other people to fill the mini-bus! I don't know if Bonjour would help with this, because of course they know who their other customers are in their chalets in Tignes and Val d'Isere. I might ask them.

I was thinking about leaving Les Brevieres around 4 p.m. and getting to Geneva around 6-30/7p.m. for a flight departing at 9-30. Maybe if I said we were definitely booking an 8 seater mini-bus back at this time on Sunday 20th January other people would join in. I wouldn't much like to catch the chalet transfer myself if it leaves Tignes/Val d'Isere on Sunday at 5-30 or 6-00 in the morning

When I asked about cars for 1-3 people I was quoted around 230 euros for Tignes to Geneva, which seems pretty expensive. The bus is much cheaper but it's a lot slower.

Edit
Now we're on another new page I'd like to remind people that we still have places on this group holiday to Les Brevieres. The details are on the first page. If you're interested would you please either send me a pm or post on here.
Thanks,

Ally

I can't remember what time we are able to access the rooms by? I need to work backwards so I know when we should set off/book Eurotunnel etc. Can anyone help?

Hi Felthorpe,
It's in the e-mail they sent me (on the first page of this group holiday thread) and it says:

All bedrooms must be vacated by 9.30am on departure day. Guests wishing to ski on that day may leave their bags until 4.15pm at the latest but, due to lack of space in the chalets, are kindly requested to leave at or before that time. It will be possible to change in the chalet before then. When possible, a shower may be available, but this cannot be guaranteed and will depend on the arrival times of the incoming guests and whether or not the chalet is full for the forthcoming week. In any case, we ask that the chalet is fully vacated by 4.15pm to enable incoming guests to enjoy their afternoon tea.
Your rooms will be ready from 2pm on the day of your arrival. For those who arrive earlier and wish to ski on the Sunday we will find somewhere for you to change and somewhere to store your luggage. If you arrive in time you are welcome to join us for breakfast. However please note that on change over morning's chalet staff will be preoccupied with leaving guests and preparing your rooms. If no one is there to greet you please ring the door bell and be patient. If you are arriving on any other day staff may not be in the chalet from 11am to 4:30 pm.

Are you booking the Eurotunnel now? Have you definitely decided to drive?

If you get some prices could you put them up please, to help other people and save me looking them up.

Ally

We are most likely to drive but last time I looked the tickets weren't available for that far ahead yet.

Will let you know.

Thanks Felthorpe,
I phoned Eurotunnel just now and they said tickets are available up to 6th January only, and they will probably release the next batch at the beginning of May (in a couple of weeks).

And I checked the small print for the Bonjour transfers. It says the coach will only wait for a maximum of 45 minutes if your flight is delayed. The details are here:

Thanks AllyG and Daved.

I had been on the Eurotunnel site and although it says you can book 9 months in advance, this isn't quite acurate as, (as Ally points out) they release tickets in batches.

As for the ferry option, I get sea sick just looking at it, so I expect we will opt for the Tunnel and pay the extra.
