Hi there
I wondered if any of you who know the French Alps area near Grenoble / Annecy could recommend somewhere to stay for a few days. We are going to Grenoble for a weekend to stay with friends and ski, and the following weekend do the same but in Annecy. So for a few days inbetween we want to go off and do our own thing, but don't need to ski as will fancy a rest. So looking for a cute village (with snow) with nice chalets/restaurant where we can just be romantic and do silly stuff like toboggan.
Cheers if you can help
Caroline :D

Hi Caroline, welcome...
Near Annecy I'd suggest La Clusaz or Le Grand Bornand. Although there's good skiing in both, they're both nice villages and pleasant places to hang out during the day (bit more to do in LC).
You've got ice skating, swimming, snow-shoe walking, and huskies (dog-powered sledging) all available and buses between the villages to go for a wander if you wish.
You could even ski if you get bored of resting...
