My skiweekends coach trip to Brides Les bains April 18-21 has just been cancelled due to lack of numbers and I have been offered instead, for a reasonable supplement - return flights and tranfers to a three star chalet in Reberty which is one up on the two star half board hotel. He says its virtually ski in ski out which is a big improvement on Brides so i think I am happy with the change....
Having a look at the Les Menuires ski reports there seems a lot to choose from there. Which areas would people recommend i try and ski in my three days? (blue/easy red level)
The other dilemma is they have offered me half price rental skiis (as it would be a £58 supplement to carry skis in the hold - one of the reasons I was going by coach in the first place). Having just forked out a packet for my new skis I'm a bit loathe to leave them behind ...but then it is only for three days and it does save the carrying - what would you do?
Advice much appreciated, as ever..

Good move...Les Menuires is all ski-to-door and no long, long gondola to and from Meribel each day.

La Masse is the best area in the Three Vallees and the best access to it is from Les Menuires. Some long cruising reds and a couple of blacks that are fun but not frighteningly steep.

I'd take my own skis - time saved in not messing about in the hire shop and having to return them etc!

Thanks, they bring them to the chalet ctually and are pretty good service I believe.
Thanks - I'll look at La Masse. I', havingn more lessons so with any luck I may get my level to solid (rather than easy) reds before long

Reberty is a great base, it's above Les Menuires so access to the higher slopes is very easy.

Now you've decided you like your new skis, I think you should take them with you :)

You might hire some and hate them!

True- Seems stupid not to take them... It's just the cheap offer and not having the hassle of carrying.

Take your own skis that is why you brought them, unless you are flying with the Irish lot in which case I would suggest you hire. 8)
