My wife and I are visiting Val Desire on Fri 22rd March for the weekend and would like to arrange some lessons while we are there. We have never been skiing before and would like to have a lesson each day while we are there.

- Do group lessons run at weekends (we'd like to keep cost as low as poss)?
- Can you recommend a ski school? (we are both British)
- What is a realistic price we should expect to pay for lessons (group or private)

Many thanks!

We cant wait! :D

Some of our group have used Evolution2 and progressed really quickly.

We got on really well with Oxygene. Our instructor was called Roberto, Italian, nice guy. He kept up a constant gentle pressure, didn't push so hard it was scary but didn't let us slack either. I can't remember how much the group lessons were, we did 5 days anyway but a 3 hour private was around 200 euros and worth every penny, we split the lesson and the cost.

Hi again,

So I have my prices and now just need to decide.

One more question though, is it a good idea to go for an ALL DAY lesson or just the morning (allowing extra practice on our own in the afternoon)?

Thoughts?

Yes of course.
You have never skied before so you need as many lessons as you can possibly squeeze in. That way you will progress faster and be able to enjoy future ski trips more as you progress even further.
First time skiing really should be focused on learning and development over and above drinking, dancing and looking at the lovely scenery. That all comes in moderation and in time.
