My wife and I have found a flight from Cork to Munich.
5 day round trip, max 3 days skiing, 1st week of December 2012.
We are good intermediate skiers.
35 - 40 years old.
We Like good restuarants & bars,
Ski in Ski out would be desireable,

Mayrhofen or Kitzbuhel?????
Open to suggestions!!!!

Neither of your choices offers ski in/out -)

You could stay up near Hintertux, and be close to the glacier if the snow is late.

That is a good suggestion John, and I don't think there would be much in it, c/w the Tux. It's 2hr 40m drive from Munich Airport. Ski in/out from 1740m village level.

A good natural snow history, traditional Austrian village.Great skiing.

Defo no ski in out in mayrhofen although there is in finkenburg and lanersbach just round the corner. Easy drive from Munich too.
I'd be looking at bad gastein or schladming personally.

Hi
Not everywhere will be open first week of December. Check out Ski Amade open times at: http://www.skiamade.com/de/winter/schneespass/aktuell/saisonstart
Even with the opredicted opening times, there may not be enough snow. Last season the snow came very late even though they ended up having tons of the stuff. Obertauern is a good bet for height, as is Zauchensee, but Zauchense may not be open. Schladming is fantastic, with the best ski-in\ski-out in Rohrmoos. because of the Worls Cup in February, Schladming are desperate to open as early as they can but only if there is snow. the only place you can really guarantee snow is on the glaciers but they lack a certain Gemuetlichkeit!. At least in Schladming you have the option of the Dachstein glacier if the resort runs aren't open. Schladming will be a 2.5 - 3.00 hour drive from Munich. Good luck!

Why not Hochgurgl / Obergurgl?
Plenty of ski in/out and snow should be good in the first week of december! try sporthotel ideal, it has a good price, indoor pool and great food!
www  Check my homepage for skiing huts / chalets in Austria!
