Item 6 : Polar Fleece Jacket Quiz

There is a series of events called the FIS races or World Cup Races in which the very best ski racers from every nation meet to compete. These events typically occur between November to March.

However there was a special "exception" in which this event was held in August just once.

What year did this exceptional event occur and why ?

Funny thing about the location of this event. Some friends and I have a deal of going there. Which ever of us "win" a lottery, these winnings will take us for some great skiing!!

To this day, it remains as the only alpine world championship contested in the ...................... It took place well out of the established season, nearly five months before the first World Cup season, which began in early January .............

No, Mike, this is not what the question says. The question actually says things like "exceptionally and "just once" event was held in August (not in some unique place) - this is not true. 4 different years the season started in August. And there is not a single "unique" place either if what you suggested was the case, there seem to be two of them where event was held just once - in consequitive years too. So not unique whatever the reason was. If the event was held in August at least in 4 different years that should make the question redundant whatever the case in a particular year was.

World Championships and FIS World Cup Races are two very different events.

I stand corrected.

The event I am referring to is an FIS sanctioned event ! It was a special event and never ever repeated !
