I'm looking to do Dec 2012/April 2013 season in Mayrhofen and want to find part time work or full time bar work once I'm there, as I'll have an income of around £500-700 pm from renting out my flat in London while I'm gone.

I'm going on my own and would love to find like-minded people to share accommodation with. Anyone who has found accommodation and needs an extra roomie - send me a message!

Anyone who is in the same boat and would like to search for something together, get in touch, so far I've found it pretty hard to suss out how to find a bed/room to rent with others in Mayrhofen.

Bit about me: I'm 24, female, mostly piste skier, biology graduate, been working in publishing for 8 months and dying to leave the office life. I will be working scuba diving and doing scientific research on coral reefs in Mexico from end of July to end of September and want to be doing a ski season in the winter, I'll be going out alone. I'm social and easy to get on with, love music, enjoy going out, very clean and tidy.

Any reason Mayfhofen, from what I remember, good Apres ski but not so easy for skiing without car.

Plenty of Brits and plenty of bars which open just for Apres ski so am sure there are plenty of jobs which let you ski every day.

I've only heard great things about Mayrhofen from friends and having only skiied in France in the past I'd like to try Austria, and it should be cheaper than a lot of the French resorts, and certainly cheaper than Switzerland.

Interesting about the car - what's the public transport like do you know? I'm not a very advanced skiier though.

haa and I am always first to criticize those who cannot figure out Chamonix bus and train system. Am sure if you're there for any period of time will be easy to figure out and avoid the lines from lift in town, there are two other main options (located it seems for day skiers from Innsbruck). I retract my comment and happy Harakiri.

Glacier skiing is some distance off.

Long, long time since I skiied in Austria(Obergergul), but Solden is on the plan for this year. There is definitely a special apres ski atmosphere compared with other ski countries.

You do not need a car in Mayrhofen. Hintertux glacier is a 25 minute bus ride away, its not far. The rest is all lift or bus or train linked.

Hi Alexyz
Did you have any joy finding any long term rental accomodation. I looking at going out in Novemeber through to the summer. I think i will probably just get some holiday accomodation for a few weeks and then see what is about whilst I am there.
Would however be interested to hear if you have any tips on finding somewhere?

Cheers
Paul
