A social ski tracking app - is looking for feedback

This message is not meant as advertising, but to get feedback from people who are currently on the slopes skiing and snowboarding.

Will keep you posted as I use the app while I ski.

Will send you every week or so information about its "acceptance" in my group skiing right now in NZ. .

Can you provide email address?

Does it have Ipod potential?

Can it be inserted in some GPS models?

Can it detected some modern "sensors" some ski resorts are now planting in their slopes?

Can it "detect" WIFI sensors some ski companies are inserting into ski core?

No, because current iPhones have multitasking on board it is easier to use other music apps like iTunes, Spotify or 22tracks to listen to music.

Unfortunately 3 times no, but we are working with hardware vendors to look at the possibilities. If you know any resorts that have sensors planted on their slopes, let me know! Would love to get in touch

the only problem with this type of ap is that it consumes data...and with the price of international usage (£0.7mgb)I turn the data off on the slopes

There is another issue most skiers do not know and should consider when using all social network apps or methods.

People are so quick to get into a social "group" that they do not consider their lose of identity and personal information.

Allow me to illustrate.

Last ski season met a man who was so proud to tell me about his great gadget which tells him all about his; ski runs visited, skiing speed, lifts taken, turns made, heart beat, vibrations of skis at tip and tail, setting of his bindings, snow depth, food he had, etc,,, ( of course exaggerated) .

To use all this data he had to register on resort site with app thus giving resort all sorts of info about himself such as; age, skis used, home address, email, friends at resort etc,,,

Guess who will now use this information ?
Guess who will sell this information to others?

Guess who will use this information to make "administrative" decisions about next years skiing?

It is your choice,,just be aware of the consequences of this choice.

Better service to skiers or more information to ski resort about skier behavior.

There is a price to pay for the need to belong .

Just my point of view.

It sounds like a great idea but I'm afraid it wouldn't be any good to me at the moment because I still have a mobile like a small brick - no internet at all. Mind you, I only have to charge it about once a week whereas these new androids seem to need charging at least once a day.

Vail Resorts Epic Mix System. You have to actively Opt Out, or block the RFID chip AIUI.

Yes person has to "opt out".

Do you know that there are methods to change this,,'opting out" or rendering cell GPS, Ipad and any WIFI electronic device traceable. Passive units can be made "active" without person knowing.

A famous case involves a GPS unit in a rented car. Person thought the unit was "disabled" but rental company activated it via wireless communications.

My computer can be activated by my security technicians anywhere in the world.

My cell phone even when OFF can be traced any where in the world if you know how to do this and have systems.
