Any info, good or bad, on a March 2013 trip to Hotel Royal Ours Blanc in Alpe d'Huez for a group of 8 decent intermediate skiiers in their 40's and 50's would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

No experience of staying there but i can comment on the location.
It is in the centre of town right next to the ice rink which is fine for nights out but no so good for ski access.
You will either have to walk to the lifts or catch the shuttle bus around town.

Actually thats not quite right. It was just above our chalet in the old part of town, and you can access it from the Villages piste to within a minutes walk, and there is the cross town lift over the ice driving track which is easy to get to.

It gets mixed reviews, and seems expensive to me for what it is, ie a bed for the night

I agree. We were given an excellent price quote for 8 sharing, but the guy made a mistake as he priced it for 12 sharing.

Thanks, but we won't be going here.

I have stayed in the Royal Ours Blanc, its a fantastic hotel. Not a bad location and its All inclusive which can save you a lot of money on lunch and drinks in the evening.

You can go all inc, but you can also go room only or B&B with some tour ops.

I loved La Plagne. I am considering dumping Les Arcs this new year (as crystal are totally messing me about AGAIN) and returning there.
